So… we touch down at Almaty airport to find out every single bag had been left in amsterdam and wasnt arriving until after the show had ended! So my crew went into full on improv mode! Hired a bunch of gear in, and somehow pulled off a miracle and did an incredible show! We even managed to filmed a bunch of one-take videos, this time focusing on my new bootleg “Hey Now” by London Grammar. So nice to see people smiling and dancing to something they’d never heard before. I love the magic of music!
Guatemala City was one of my favourite places in the world. Such an amazing energy from this crowd, ended up going back a few month later for a new years party! Loved it there!
3am alarm clock, 4am load in, 5am soundcheck, 8am gig… I was not in a good mood! UNTILL I got on stage and started playing. Turned into the most amount of fun I have ever had on stage! I had the music to this bootleg for about a year, it had a Marvin Gaye sample on it… But the guitar line always reminded me of The Temper Trap song… So when I was rehearsing for the morning Gloryville show literally two days before this show, I tried the sweet disposition vocal instead, and that’s when the whole thing turned into something magic. I knew it would be killer at morning gloryville.
So… This was madness. I’ve never had so many half naked people in the audience! It was fantastic. It was also so hot and bright that I couldn’t see any of my controllers… So that made everything a little crazier. So I’ve had this bootleg in my arsenal for a while. I mash it up with my original track ‘September sun’ … I thought a roof top in Ibiza with naked people would be a good place to film this one!
This gig was pretty crazy.. laptop overheating (thats why there is a fan on stage with me) and sand being blown all over the place. Half my gear stopped working the song after this one.. glad we got this one filmed before that happened!
I love playing this song live! I will always remember this song as it was the first original song I ever released. Still gets me when the crowd starts singing the words back to me.
This gig was HOT. I remember my laptop overheated and I had to put a fan next to it the whole show! All my equipment was also covered in sand too! Crazy! First time I ever played this bootleg was here. So it is a very special memory for me. Seeing all the beautiful people in the audience dancing with me. Love you Chile!
This is by far my favorite festival in the UK! I’ve played it every year for the past 7 years (in various different bands) this was the first year of being on the main stage on my own as youngr! And it was such an amazing experience. So I produced this bootleg especially for fieldview… As it was a bit of a special moment for me. And it rocked!!! So many words to learn! But I think I pulled it off! X
India is such an incredible place and this was one of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever had in my musical journey so far. These guys were just next level musicians. They blew my mind. It was amazing to merge cultures and see what madness we could come up with! There was a huge language barrier too, we literally had to communicate through music. The festival I had played the night before (Echoes of Earth) was a completely ecofriendly festival. Really cool.
I actually used to dance to this song around my living room when I was 7 years old. My mum used to put it on in Manchester and I’d love it! It’s always held a special place in my memory. So bootlegging it was a joy. And I had to get funky with it! If I’ve made any other 7 year old’s dance like a crazy kid, then my job here is done!
